Flamingo Nights Vol. 1 Ibiza is 2 CD’s of strong, hard hitting, house funk from the word go. Never has a promotional video caused my mouth to water in anticipation for a full taste, and when I plopped in my copy I was not disappointed.

This ain’t no watered down attempt to fill in space for a few choice tracks, the tracks selections and mixing here is strong and hits you dead in the cerebellum with the real stuff that made you love house music in the first place. And just when you think you are about to catch your breath, they drop another track on you out of nowhere that makes your face frown with decisive authority while your head nods up and down with the base in a way that makes you look like you are actually mentally controlling the rhythm.

It’s so funky that at some point in the over 2 hr, 28 track club set, you are bound to frown your mouth up like someone in the room just dropped some hangover gas in an old sweat sock and turn to who ever is in the room and shout, “Yeah ! Now see..that’s what I’m talkin’ about…..you young bucks don’t know nothing about that !” O.K. maybe that was just me, but it’s that kind of Funky, Tech- House that keeps a party going for true fans of the genre.

We have been very fortunate this year to have had some killer releases in Dance Music, and this is by far one of the best of the year IMO.
