After the success of "That One Moment," Anhken & Adrian are back with their follow-up "Intuition," which contrasts from their edgy debut collab. "Intuition" comes with a brooding melodic remix from Sunny Lax and a pumping tech trance remix from Liam Melly.
Original Mix
Chunky percussion and a firm Anhken bassline are early features and are quickly joined by lush pads and plucks. The break features more lush pads and strings and the moody theme. An epic breakbeat motive develops as the pads swell and before you know it, the climax is sweeping you up and the chorus is in full swing. A techy, proggy, bassline-driven trancer, this track has a very nostalgic feeling courtesy of the synths but the bassline and percussion give it some edge.
Liam Melly Remix
Liam's effort has a bit of a standard feeling but it packs a punch and contains quite a bit of energy. Driving percs, acid and an offbeat bassline start things off. Pads and plucks make their way in, adding some nice atmosphere. The break is very uplifting, boasting standard but soothing pads, piano and a lead pluck riff. A big buildup kicks in the chorus, which just features the techy stabs, acid and bassline from the intro. A nice peaktime teaser, this track will do well on the floor. Nothing overly exciting but it gets the job done.
Sunny Lax Remix
A recent favorite of Above & Beyond and TATW listeners alike, the Lax mix has been in high demand for quite some time. Sunny Lax delivers a lush uplifting remix featuring loads of white noise FX, warm pads, plucks and many other hypnotic elements, all of which make this rework a soothing and addicting experience. The track builds gradually from the start to the break, beginning with clean driving percussion, a subtle bassline and plucks. The breakdown boasts the same original lead plucks but Sunny offers his own progression during the theme to give his remix an original feeling. What may surprise you is this 8:34 remix manages to fit in two choruses (both of which are rather epic!) and doesn't sound rushed in doing so. Fans of both Sunny Lax and uplifting trance will love this one.
Conclusion
All in all the Lax mix is clearly the pick of the bunch although each mix has its own merits. Well in line with Fraction's releases and worth checking out. 4/5
